Peter Obi who is the presidential candidate of the Labor Party (LP) has promised to lift 130 million people out of poverty if he is elected president in the 2023 general election.

He said this after attending the NKST conference in Mkar, GBOko Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State. His statement was in response to a recent report by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) that shows that 63% of Nigerians live below the poverty line.
The Labor Party presidential flag bearer made this promise while addressing journalists at the JS Tarka Stadium, Gboko, Gboko LGA in the state on Friday. According to him, “I have come to invite the synod to talk with them about the upcoming election, which I said is very important.
“As I said, this statement shows that Nigeria has about 216 million people, and it is said that 130 million people are in poverty, that is only about us, and that is the point that gives me a problem. “How are we going to get these people out of my home? It is very important to me, and that is why I came here to help them make the right choice. “They should think about their children who are going to school, think about what they can give to the country, building the country is the responsibility of the government and all the federal agencies in the country.”
