During his keynote speech at the Parents Summit of the 2023 Education Week in Edo State, Kukah made this disclosure.

He referred to the destruction wrought by bandits, terrorists, and other enemies of Nigeria’s security as being perpetrated by forces of the night.

Therefore, in order to defeat the forces sustaining insecurity throughout the nation, all Nigerians must possess resiliency.

“As we can see, the forces of darkness, those who have said no to humanity and those who have said no to education, whether they manifest themselves in the murderous and devastation excesses of Boko Haram or banditry, are now ravaging and threatening our country,” he stated.

In April of last year, the United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, said that 11,536 schools in Nigeria had been shuttered because of insecurity.

Chibok, Dapchi, Kankara, and other widespread incidences of kidnapping continue to serve as a reminder of the unrest in Nigeria.
