The Amagalmated Unions of Food Stuff and Livestock Dealers of Nigeria will work with the Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, or NSCDC, to combat food insecurity and cattle rustling.
When the national leadership of the union paid him a visit at the command’s headquarters in Lokoja, the state commander of the corps, Oyinloye John Kayode, said as much.
The NSCDC’s Agro Rangers Department will launch the pilot program in Kogi State in partnership with the union to carry out the objectives, according to Commandant Oyinloye.
According to him, the command would address issues by establishing a pilot security station at Karara close to the state’s naval base to examine waybills and payment receipts for trucks moving livestock and agricultural products into and out of Kogi State.
