Buhari approves new governing board of NIS

Following the three-year term of the departing board, President Muhammadu Buhari has authorized the formation of a new Governing Board for the National Institute for Sports (NIS).
A communiqué from the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development with Mohammed Manga’s signature contains Buhari’s endorsement.
The board will oversee the institute’s administration and set its policy orientation, according to the statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja.
Danladi Ibrahim will serve as board chairman, along with Maj-Gen Okpeh Wilson-Ali, AIG Hafiz Inuwa, Lawrence Babatunde-Aremu, Dr. Fatima Kabir-Umar, and Boniface Odum.
Commodore Nesiama Omatseye, Prof. O. A. Moronkola, Salisu Manman-Aliyu, Ag. DCG Gregory Itohoh, Kunle Solaja, and Commodore Nesiama Omatseye are the other members. Mr. Awogbade Gbadebo will act as secretary.
The announcement of the board’s inauguration will come later, according to the statement.
